Risk Assessment

This Risk Assessment is an overview of all the potential risks to a daytime visitor at The Tales of Robin Hood. All measures have been taken to ensure the safety of all our visitors, however due to the nature of the attraction there are aspects of the museum whereby individuals must exercise caution and care when walking through the exhibition.

·         The Courtyard, Greenwood, Sheriff's Cave and Loading Bay all have slightly uneven floors and low lighting levels. Walk slowly and concentrate on the route.

 

·         All of the above rooms have time delay operating systems on the door so they open and close at the correct time. Please be aware of automatically opening doors.

 

·         There is a small step on and off the ride 20cm step onto the cable car in low level lighting. Please take time and care when embarking the cable cars and wait for a member of staff to assist you.

 

·         The slow moving ride can be a potential hazard to children if they do not remain seated. Please ensure that you remain seated throughout the duration of the ride. If for any reason the ride stops please stay seated until a member of staff comes to assist you.

 

·         The downstairs and upstairs exhibition both have numerous wall hangings and free standing exhibition items. Please take care and caution when walking around the exhibition areas.

 

·         Café gas many wooden tables and wooden benches at knee height and hot food and drink will be served between 10.00am and 5.00pm. Please keep all children under adult supervision.

 

·         Archery range with loose arrows (all archers must be supervised by a member of staff at all times) Trained staff will supervise in archery. Archers must not go past the wooden rail. Concentration and cooperation are required.

 

·         First aid boxes are kept in: Shop, Maintenance, Café, Office and Main Bar.

 

·         Appointed first aiders are Nick Parker and Sophie Terzza.

 

·         All accidents and cases of work related ill health are to be recorded in the accident book which is kept in the office.
